Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with NICU and pediatric critical care experience for a night shift travel assignment requiring BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT, and a FL license.

Details

• Work in a level 4 NICU and level 1 pediatric unit within a short-term acute care setting
• Pediatric and neonatal patient population, including pediatric ED
• Utilizes Servo I/U/N and Sensormedics ventilators, and jet ventilator experience is preferred
• Handles airway management, medication delivery, nebulizer, O2 therapy, and ventilator management for neonatal and pediatric patients
• Cerner EMR used, Cerner experience preferred
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Weekend work is required every other weekend
• No floating required outside of home unit and no on-call requirements
• Strict 100-mile radius rule for candidate eligibility

Requirements

• Active FL RRT license required at the time of consideration
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year NICU and pediatric critical care experience
• Proficiency in airway management, medication administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, basic EKG, and chest physiotherapy
• Experience caring for infants and children with a variety of respiratory conditions
• First-time travelers are accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical or religious exemptions accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide advanced respiratory care and procedures to neonatal and pediatric patients
• Join a collaborative multidisciplinary team supporting both NICU and PICU patients
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Facility is smoke free
• Completion of a pass/fail EKG exam required with up to three attempts
• Relevant training modules must be completed pre-assignment and annually
• Permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO requests accepted in the contract; time off may be discussed with the unit manager
