American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with recent Level III NICU and hospital-wide experience for a day or night shift contract in a Level II trauma center.

Details

• Work in a 492-bed hospital with a Level II trauma center and Level III NICU
• Respiratory care provided hospital-wide, including adult and NICU populations
• NICU therapists must also provide care for adult patients
• Typical equipment includes PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo ventilators
• Uses Cerner EMR, experience required
• Omnicell medication dispensing and Spacelabs monitors in use
• Shifts are 7a-7p or 7p-7a with every other weekend required
• Voluntary on-call opportunities available
• Requirement to work one major and one minor holiday per policy
• Floating to like units or patient locations as needed

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) considered with at least 2 years of experience
• Minimum 2 years of relevant respiratory therapy experience required
• BLS required; NRP required for NICU assignments; ACLS/APLS preferred
• Recent Level III NICU experience within the past 12 months required for NICU RTs
• Cerner or Epic EMR experience required
• Ground transport and Nitric Oxide administration experience preferred for NICU therapists
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years’ experience and Cerner/Epic proficiency
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Duties include general and critical care respiratory therapy for adults and NICU patients, equipment management, and inter-hospital transports as needed
• Travelers not returning to facility within one year will receive full orientation: 24 hours classroom plus 24 hours unit time
• Permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered for a traveler role
• Approval for up to 7 days off available, excluding blackout dates
• Scrubs in any color except bright/neon are permitted
• Free parking is provided in a parking deck
• Candidates must live at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify
