American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist experienced in adult and pediatric care for a night shift position requiring Illinois licensure.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based respiratory therapy department
• Care provided across general floors, intermediate units, ICU, and emergency departments
• Patient population includes pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
• 12-hour night shifts
• Involvement in Rapid Response and Blue Alerts as primary airway manager
• Responsibilities include managing advanced modes of ventilation and administering specialty medical gases

Requirements

• Completion of a respiratory therapy program from an accredited school
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Illinois required if applicable
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Graduate therapists must pass NBRC TMC and CSE exams before orientation
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
• Basic electronic medical record documentation skills

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care, including medical gas administration, aerosolized medications, airway clearance, and ventilator management
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds in ICUs and intermediate units
• Document interventions and patient responses according to regulatory requirements
• Night shift position with local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
