Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience for night shifts in a Level 1 trauma, academic medical center.

Details

• Work in an adult or neonatal/pediatric patient setting within an academic, Level 1 trauma center
• Assignments include ICU and medical/surgical floors based on department needs and candidate experience
• Shift options are either 06:30 – 19:00 or 18:30 – 07:00
• Weekend rotation is every other weekend
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• No on-call required
• No floating, assignments are tailored to experience and unit needs
• Utilizes EPIC EMR system
• Specialized respiratory equipment includes Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist, with HFJV and HFOV preferred for pediatric settings

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy critical care experience
• NC respiratory therapy license required if applicable
• BLS required for all positions; PALS and NRP required for NICU/Peds assignments
• CRT credential accepted but not preferred
• Critical care experience required; prior Level 1 trauma center or high-acuity experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
• Preferred experience with advanced respiratory equipment as described

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy care for post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and ED patients
• Duties and patient population will vary based on unit needs and experience
• Strong teamwork environment with leadership support, including Lead Therapists on each shift
• Initial orientation includes NEO and 1-2 days of departmental training
• Department culture values excellent collaboration among a highly experienced staff
• Scrub color is pewter (charcoal grey)
