American Traveler is seeking an experienced Adult Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of critical care experience and current NBRC RRT certification for a day shift position in a large academic teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in a teaching hospital on adult critical care, cardiovascular ICU, and medical-surgical ICU units
• Patient populations include cardiovascular, post-op cardiac, thoracic, complex vascular surgery, transplant, durable LVAD, temporary mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, IABP, Impella, post-cardiac arrest, complex cardiology cases, ARDS, septic shock, GI hemorrhage, and hematologic/oncologic emergencies
• Nearly 200 beds across ICUs, step-down, acute care, and ED
• Schedule is 3x12 hour day shifts (7:00 am – 7:30 pm) with holiday coverage required
• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be required within scope to adult units in the main hospital
• Epic EMR is used

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent adult critical care RRT experience required
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• South Carolina RCP license required, must be in hand at the time of start; license required if applicable
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• First-time travelers are not accepted
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies for eligibility
• Documents required for consideration include Social Security card and Driver’s License

Additional Information

• Provide advanced respiratory care for critically ill adult patients across multiple high-acuity units
• Work in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma Center with a collaborative interdisciplinary team
• Caribbean blue scrubs required
• All employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
• Previous perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Modules must be completed before start, average 4 hours required
• Parking pass available for nights and weekends for a onetime fee
• Locals may be considered at a reduced rate on a case-by-case basis
