Job Details

Work in the Short Stay/PreOp and PACU unit within a hospital setting
Nonprofit, Level IV Trauma Center with 54 staffed beds
Patient population includes pediatric and adult cases, with approximately 150 cases monthly
Handles Pre-op, PACU, and Phase II recovery, including procedures such as laparoscopic surgeries, endoscopy, colonoscopy, orthopedic surgeries, and pediatric dental care
Use of Epic for charting is preferred but not required
Mixed schedule of 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts based on unit needs, primarily days (3x12, 7:00–19:00)
On-call required with weekend coverage approximately once per month depending on staffing
Self-scheduling in coordination with team to ensure adequate coverage
Candidates may be floated to other units within a 50-mile radius as needed
Locals within a 60-mile radius are not accepted

Job Requirements

Active RN license; pending Washington state license accepted with proof of application
Minimum 1 year of recent Pre-op or PACU RN clinical experience required; OR staff RN experience preferred
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Experience assisting with Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, and a broad range of surgical procedures
Ability to start IVs, administer blood products, anticoagulants, narcotics/analgesics, and procedural sedation
Experience with Pyxis medication system and Epic charting preferred
Physical ability to perform airway assessment, extubation, placement of oral/nasal airways, and care for general, Ortho, Gyn, Endo/Laparoscopic, and pediatric cases

Additional Information

Will provide Pre-op and post-anesthesia care, circulating, and monitoring for a variety of surgical procedures
Responsible for management of both pediatric and adult surgical patients, including post-anesthesia recovery and pain management
Must be comfortable with self-scheduling and taking both on-call and weekend shifts as assigned
Scrubs required and provided for Long Term Care units
Free parking available on site
Full COVID vaccination required; booster not mandatory
Candidates must be separated from previous employment at this health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
Time off requests are allowed without restriction
First-time travelers are welcome
