American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a day shift position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and an active SC RCP license.

Details

• 13-week assignment in a hospital respiratory care department
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 6:45a-7:15p, with holiday rotation
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Must float within scope to all hospital areas, including labor and delivery
• No floating to sister facilities
• Patient ratio of 1:8
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) license required at time of start; license required if applicable
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required (AHA only), all in hand at time of start
• Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, airway management, intubation/extubation assist, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and nebulizer therapy
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care settings
• Support high-risk deliveries and NICU/pediatric critical care as needed
• Administer a range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and nitric oxide
• Perform bronchoscopy assistance and airway suctioning procedures
• Caribbean Blue scrub color required
• Free parking available on-site
• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates not accepted; radius rule of 60 miles applies
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for facility approval
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
