American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PEDS role at a Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU, requiring an RRT credential and NRP certification for neonatal coverage

Details

• Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma, teaching hospital with 417 beds, working toward Magnet designation
• Respiratory Therapy department caring for pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory patients
• 6/12 hour variable shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required for holidays falling within the contract dates
• On-call typically only required for planned events such as the Sturgis Rally
• May float throughout the hospital and ED, but not to other facilities unless specifically hired for that
• EPIC charting system used along with Omnicell
• Equipment includes Draeger V500 and Savina 300 ventilators, 3100A Oscillator, Hamilton C1/MRI, ResMed APAP/CPAP/Bi-level, Airvo2 high flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO

Requirements

• RRT required, though CRT may be considered based on experience
• South Dakota RCP license required prior to consideration (license required if applicable)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP required if working in NICU
• AA degree required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
• EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory care services
• 24/7 support available from Charge RT/Respiratory Clinical Specialist as well as supervisors, manager, and director
• Facility and unit orientation provided through the Rapid City Hospital Respiratory Care Department
• Pewter scrub color required
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers may be considered upon manager review if they have strong experience
• 100 mile radius rule applies; local travelers are not accepted
• Time off requests of up to 7 days may be approved if the department can accommodate; a full week off requires extending the contract
• Facility is known for being traveler-friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
