Description

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience, including at least 1 year in an acute care hospital setting, for a 13-week travel assignment in Boston, MA.

Details

• Inpatient physical therapy setting within a hospital environment
• 8-hour day shifts with a 7:30am start time, Monday–Friday
• One Saturday shift required per month; holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call required
• 40 hours per week

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution required
• Active MA state PT license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
• Current AHA BLS (CPR) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PT experience, with at least 1 year in an acute care hospital setting
• ICU experience strongly preferred
• APTA and MCAPTA membership preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Analytical ability to evaluate patient condition, progress, and develop appropriate treatment programs
• Two professional references required for consideration — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (supervisors are not accepted); references from other travelers are not accepted
• One reference must be from within the past 12 months; the second may be from within the past 3 years
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of inpatients and outpatients with physical and functional deficits
• Plans and implements individual and group physical therapy treatments aimed at improving mobility, reducing pain, restoring function, and promoting independence
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate appropriate follow-up care and support return to home and work environments
• Provides clinical supervision and training for PT students in accordance with departmental guidelines
• Participates in continuing education activities
• Reports to the Rehabilitation Therapies Supervisor/Manager
• Candidates must have a permanent residence located 30 or more miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
