American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week inpatient assignment requiring BLS certification and proficiency with Cerner EMR.

Details

• Acute care inpatient setting covering med/surg, tele, ICU, and other hospital units
• Patient population includes orthopedic/total joint, ICU/ventilated, oncology, cardiac surgery, and general medical cases
• Shift schedule: 8-hour shifts (8:30am–7:00pm range, varied start times), Tuesday through Saturday
• When a weekend shift is required, a compensatory weekday off is provided
• All staff are expected to work holidays
• Floating to outpatient is not required for this inpatient position
• Cerner EMR used for charting
• Rehab tech support available on unit
• Hospitalist/intensivist available on-site during daytime hours
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care PT experience required
• Experience with orthopedic/total joint patients required
• ICU experience, including treatment of ventilated patients, required
• Med/surg and oncology experience preferred
• Active PT license required (pending licenses not accepted); license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required (pending certifications not accepted)
• COVID vaccination required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for evaluation and treatment of patients across all acute care areas of the hospital, including ICU, med/surg, tele, and oncology units
• Candidates should be prepared to hit the ground running — strong independent practice skills are essential
• Orientation is brief, typically one day or less
• Burgundy polo with dark-colored pants (business attire) required; lab coats are optional
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Schedules are set by staffing management and published approximately one month or more in advance
